Headland Weather collects no personal data. We have no servers, no user accounts, and no analytics. Your locations and preferences live on your device.
None. We do not operate a server, do not maintain user accounts, and do not transmit any personal information to ourselves or to any third party.
Your saved locations, activity preferences, units (Fahrenheit / Celsius), and subscription status are stored locally on your iPhone. This information never leaves the device and is removed when you uninstall the app.
To deliver forecasts and alerts, the app makes API requests to the following public services. We do not see these requests — they go from your device directly to the service.
These requests include the latitude and longitude of the locations you've saved. Your IP address is necessarily transmitted as part of standard internet protocol. These services may log requests briefly under their own privacy policies — we have no control over or access to those logs.
If you grant location permission, the app uses your device's GPS coordinates only to fetch weather for your current position. Coordinates are sent to the weather services above. We do not store, share, or transmit your location to ourselves or any other party.
You may revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings without losing access to the app — you can use search to enter locations manually instead.
Pro subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store. Apple handles all payment information per their own privacy policy. We receive only the binary status (subscribed / not subscribed) needed to unlock Pro features.
Headland Weather is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone in any age group, including children.
If this policy changes in any meaningful way, the updated date at the top of this page will be revised and material changes will be summarized in the app's release notes.
